1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
¾ cup chopped green pepper
1 16 oz can (2cups) tomatoes, broken up
1 16 oz can (2 cups) red kidney beans, undrained
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
2 teaspoons chili powder (or to taste)

In heavy skillet, cook meat, onion and green pepper until meat is lightly browned and vegetables are tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Serve over rice or top with your favorite toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, sliced green onions, etc.
